Artist Statement: My work runs closely parallel to my life. I live and think and desire, so my work is emotionally driven. I am interested in reading and writing and the human experience. I live in Los Angeles and like my new city. My work is a reflection of my desire to explore and connect to my surroundings and make them mine. I am interested in displacement & transition, the city I'm trying to realize, ideas of tradition, the longing to belong, fantasy & narrative, documentation, memories & perception, hyper nostalgia & young love, handmade items & artist books, personality as fiction, found objects & childhood conjurings, communication & the systems of family. Through photography & various other mediums I aim to analyze & explore my anxieties & observations. My eyes are wide open & I digest new things everyday.
